PANDEMONIUM (POLAND)

Lódz Death Metal act created in the Autumn of 1989 by vocalist / guitarist Paul and drummer Peter "Zuber". Having added bassist Simon, the PANDEMONIUM debut 1990 rehearsal demo included a cover version of SAMAEL's 'Into The Pentagram'. PANDEMONIUM released the February 1992 demo 'Devilri', this release selling tens of thousands of copies throughout Poland. However, Simon opted out to be substituted by Jack of HAZAEL. In this new formation PANDEMONIUM entered Izabelin Studios in Warsaw and followed up with the 'The Ancient Catatonia' session of 1994 through Baron Records. The sessions would be fraught though, resulting in an altercation between Paul and Zuber the end result of which was to see Karol Skwarczewski of IMPERATOR and DEVASTATOR taking over percussion work. At this juncture PANDEMONIUM also gained a second guitarist, Quack, from the Warsaw group HATE. Zuber returned but membership problems still afflicted the band though and following their appearance at the 1994 'Metalmania' festival Zuber was finally asked to leave, Skwarczewski quickly filling the vacancy. Meantime, Simon would join TENEBRIS. The following year the group switched names to DOMAIN, due to ex-member Zuber owned the legal rights to the old name. Under the DOMAIN brand the group released the 1995 album 'Pandemonim'. They would later switch their name back to Pandemonium in 2004.
