PLEURITIC (FINLAND)

Pleuritic was one of the less well-known Death/Black Metal acts to emerge from Finland's legendary "Nokia Scene" in the early 90's. Overshadowed by bands of moderate international fame (such as Lubricant and Convulse), Pleuritic was left struggling almost completely unnoticed in the damp and filthy basement that served as their rehearsal space. Faced with misjudged and unfair accusations of being the "Spinal Tap of Black Metal", the drummer Torment Of Souls - in a vehement attempt to prove Pleuritic were to be taken seriously - built an altar upon a stack of Marshall amps for the worship of Evil. Rumor has it that during rehearsals, the band often used to summon an ethereal spiritual entity into being through collective psychic means for additional inspiration! Legends surrounding Pleuritic abound. The only copy known to exist of the sleeve to the demo tape "Chaos Delirium" was apparently stolen from guitarist Grave Farmer's attic by one of Pleuritic's few die-hard fans and taken to the dark backwoods of Pinsiö to be destroyed in a complex ritual. Only the actual tape survived; the titles of the songs were forever lost and remain a mystery...
