SHUD (FRANCE)

The band was founded in September 88 by Cyril and Damien. The first demo called "Blindfold" was a rehearsal recorded with a light production in July 89. Manu came as a guitarist and Shud began to search for a lead guitarist. They had to wait till March 90 when Polux came to complete the line-up. Finally all together, Shud began a hard work of composition in a thrash style, always more brutal, expecting some next gigs and a new demo. In September 90 "De Profundis" is recorded. As the demo has been appreciated, Shud did a lot of gigs all over France and even made what we could call a first French tour. Then in July 91, the band records a new demo called "Beyond the Real" that showed once more a real progress since "De Profundis". The titles and the voice are both more death metal and the sound is really more powerful. Shud's lyrics deal with subjects as pollution, the power of money and some other ones more unreal as death and the feeling it could involve. At the same period, Manu leaves the band to make his studies in Quebec. In September 91 it's the turn of Patrick, who also left the band for studies. Since Polux became the guitarist-vocalist, and besides an old friend of the band, Pozzi took on rhythmic guitars.
