CREMAINS (CANADA)

Formed in June 1986, one of the very early Death Metal bands in a very insular, yet incredibly prolific Quebec Death Metal scene. The band's roots trace back to 1985's OBNOXIOUS SLAUGHTER, an act founded by the Hébert twins, bassist Yves and guitarist Yvon, together with frontman Chris Eldridge. In early 1986 drummer Pierre Côté was installed upon the recommendation of VOIVOD's Michel "Away" Langevin and at this juncture the revised title of CREMAINS was taken onboard. Guitarist Dany Côté then completed the line up for recording of the self financed 'Back From The Graves', issued in July of 1987. A further four songs were tracked in the studio later that same year with the intention of partnering with OBLIVEON's 'Whimsical Uproar' session for a split release. However, the tracks never saw the light of day as CREMAINS fragmented.
