HOBBS ANGEL OF DEATH (AUSTRALIA)

Peter Hobbs had started his musical career in 1983 with TYRUS, issuing a demo 'He's A Liar', then creating ANGEL OF DEATH in 1986. The following year saw the release of two demos 'Angel Of Death' and 'Virgin Metal Invasion From Down Under'. These sessions were recorded with the assistance of Melbourne act NOTHING SACRED guitarist Mark Wooley, Karl Lean and Sham. These tapes came to the attention of German label Steamhammer and the 1988 eponymous album was produced by Harris Johns in Berlin. HOBBS' ANGEL OF DEATH had now solidified around Hobb's, NOTHING SACRED guitarist Mark Wooley, former MASS CONFUSION bassist Phil Gresik and ex-NEW RELIGION drummer Darren McMaster-Smith. Back home HOBBS' ANGEL OF DEATH put in their debut live show opening for MORTAL SIN. In 1989 the first album was issued in Japan as a double package with Canadian Thrashers RAZOR's 'Violent Restitution' album entitled 'Hobb's Angel Of Death Vs. Razor'.
