VOMIT (GREECE)
Formed in 1985. VOMIT were
strongly influenced by VOIVOD and CELTIC FROST. Just look at the VOMIT logo. It
is straight off of the VOIVOD design. And the music is considered by today's
standards, black metal. But back in '88 this demo would have been seen as speed/
thrash with no direction or vision. Members later split into VARATHRON and NECROMANTIA.
The vocalist went on to form the grindcore band SOUND POLLUTION who did a split
record in
1989 with ROTTING CHRIST, who were also a grindcore band at the time.
Captain Death (Spyros) also was the drummer for VARATHRON on their first demo in
1989! At
that time, VARATHRON were a death metal band.
The members of VOMIT had also a 'zine called "THRASH METAL".
